INTEGRATED UNIT 1ST ESO

This year, our pupils of 1st ESO have enjoyed a lot doing the projects of the integrated unit. They have written terror stories in Spanish and English and invitations for the event of Halloween in French!! Also, they have worked the topic of the Moon and its phases in biology, looked for terror soundtracks in music and danced terror choreographies in P.E.  ;)

Este año, nuestros alumnos de 1º ESO han disfrutado mucho haciendo los proyectos de la unidad integrada. ¡Han escrito historias de miedo en español e inglés y también invitaciones para el evento de Halloween en francés!
Además, ha trabajado el tema de la Luna y sus fases en biología, buscado bandas sonoras de terror en música y bailado coreografías de miedo en E.F.  ;)

European Day of Languages

We celebrated this important day specially in English, French and Spanish in the four years of ESO with different activities including videos, texts and the creation of the Indoeuropean Languages Trees in the first year of ESO. We enjoyed it a lot.

Celebramos nuestro Día Europeo de las Lenguas como siempre el pasado 26 de septiembre. Usando nuestro material de vídeos, textos y la creación del los árboles de las lenguas Indoeuropeas lo pasamos genial.

4th year of ESO. 3rd term integrated unit. Jarifa Newspaper.

In the fourth year of ESO, we worked on Newspapers, so that students created a newspaper with different pieces of news related to the environment in English, job offers in French, Art criticism in History, PE with news related to health and wellness and Bodas de Sangre  by Lorca in Spanish.

En 4º de ESO, trabajamos sobre la creación de un periódico en inglés, Jarifa Newspaper con noticias relacionadas con el medio ambiente, ofertas de empleo, críticas de arte, noticias relacionadas con la salud y el bienestar y noticias inspiradas en Bodas de Sangre de Lorca para lengua, ya que la obra en está basada en una noticia real, por si no lo sabíais. Esperamos que estéis recibiendo suficiente sol, diversión y energía para enfrentaros a vuestro próximo año bilingüe. ¡ Nos vemos en septiembre!

3rd year of ESO. 3rd term integrated unit. Innovations and inventions.

In the third year of ESO, we dealt with  the topic of innovations and inventions in this third term, taking into account the grammar point of the passive voice both in English and French and studying the invention of toys and different lives and biographies, we succeeded in getting the most of it.
Spanish dealt with argumentative text to explain why the invention is essential nowadays and Maths had to build their own astrolabe to measure things and calculate.

En tercero de la ESO en este tercer trimestre, tratamos el tema de los inventos y las últimas innovaciones, teniendo en cuenta el estudio del punto gramatical de la voz pasiva tanto en francés como en inglés. Estudiamos textos sobre distintos juguetes inventados a los largo de la historia y conseguimos sacar el máximo partido del tema.
En lengua se trabajó el texto argumentativo para explicar por qué un determinado invento es esencial hoy en día y en matemáticas construyeron su propio astrolabio para medir y hacer cálculos.

2nd year of ESO. 3rd term integrated unit. Healthy habits of living.

In this third term for the second year of ESO, the challenge was to shoot a video showing healthy habits of living and the discovery of certain types of food brought from America, as well as showing sports, drinks, statistics in Maths or physical activities to help being fit.
The commercial is sometimes hard to record because it has to follow instructions from Spanish about the characteristics and duration and some groups got really long videos. We will try to solve this problem in future editions.

En este tercer trimestre para el curso de segundo de la ESO, el reto consistía en la grabación de un anuncio de televisión mostrando hábitos de vida saludables, combinados con estadísticas en matemáticas, deportes en inglés, bebidad o actividades físicas que nos ayudan a mantenernos en forma. El anuncio es a veces difícil de encajar por su duración, ya que tiene que seguir unos patrones concretos que se dan en lengua española. Intentaremos resolver estas dificultades en futuras ediciones.

1st year of ESO The Fable. 3rd term integrated unit

Hi everyone, we know you are all in the middle of your long-wished summer holidays but we have some extraordinary samples of our third-term work regarding bilingual studies. This video is from the first year of ESO students who researched on Fables and this academic course we made them record a wonderful video to show the result. It is difficult for them to manage some tools but they made a great effort with IT and we hope you enjoy it.

Hola a todos, sabemos que estáis en mitad de vuestras ansiadas vacaciones de verano, pero teníamos algunas muestras del tercer trimestre de bilingüismo pendientes. Este video es de los alumnos de 1º de ESO que han investigado sobre las fábulas a través de todas las materias e hicimos que grabaran este maravilloso video en el que podéis ver el resultado. Es difícil para ellos manejara algunas herramientas de las nuevas tecnologías pero esperamos que esto sirva para un primer contacto y que lo disfrutéis.

4th year of ESO-2nd Term- Gymkhana on 1898

These are examples of how our annual gymkhana took place this year for our groups of the fourth year of ESO. They really had fun going from station to station where they had to answer the questions they had prepared for English, French, Spanish and History, and of course, in the middle they had to perform physical challenges that they had also suggested. It was an unforgettable class indeed and one group from every class got an extra mark for their bilingual unit for answering all the questions and getting the first to the finish line. Congratulations!

Como podéis comprobar, este año repetimos nuestra gymkhana de cuarto de ESO en la que el alumnado tuvo que contestar preguntas de las diferentes materias yendo de estación en estación y por supuesto mientras tanto tenía que realizar pruebas físicas que ellos mismos habian propuesto en sus grupos correspondientes. Sin duda, fue una clase inolvidable y un grupo de cada cuarto ha conseguido subir un punto en la nota global de la unidad integrada por hacerlo tan bien al contestar las cuestiones y llegar en los primeros puestos al finalizar el recorrido. ¡Enhorabuena!

3rd year of ESO Integrated Unit- 2nd term Living Together and Personal Relationships

2nd year of ESO integrated unit - 2nd term - The Arabbian Culture

1st year of ESO Integrated Unit-Second term-Jarifa in Love

Regarding our project related to Saint Valentine's Day, Jarifa in Love, here you have some of the results for decorating our classrooms. We have to point out that this year, physical education took part  with love dances that we will post as soon as we have them.

Respecto a nuestro proyecto bilingüe de primero relacionado con el día de San Valentín, con el título de Jarifa Enamorada, aquí tenéis algunas muestras de cómo han quedado decoradas nuestras aulas y debemos señalar que este año educación física como nueva materia bilingüe participó con las danzas de amor que colgaremos tan pronto como las tengamos disponibles.

1st year of ESO-First term

In the first year of ESO we show you a picture of all the subjects that took part in the project. The posters are decorating the classrooms and the activity in the library is in another entry that you find earlier in time. 

Os mostramos una foto con el resultado del proyecto global de primero en todas las materias bilingües excepto el baile de EF y todas las actividades de la biblioteca que podéis comprobar en una entrada más antigua.

3rd year of ESO- First term.

In the third year of ESO we see the topic of travelling, holiday and adventure with all our students preparing a web page on a journey to a country with human right problems and a budget in Maths. The results were really good and you can check them on the following link.

En tercero de la ESO vimos el tema de viajes, vacaciones y aventuras con todo el alumnado, es un tema muy recurrente a lo largo del temario de tercero de ESO en inglés y eligieron un país al que viajar con problemática de derechos humanos y para el que debía elaborar un presupuesto en matemáticas también. Los resultados fueron sorprendentes en algunos grupos y se pueden comprobar en el siguiente enlace:

4th year of ESO- First term

European Day of Languages Year 2018-19

We worked on this celebration on 26th September with the four groups of ESO at the school. And in the first year we worked on the Indoeuropean Languages  on trees that the students created in groups. In the second year of ESO, we worked with puns, riddles or tongue-twisters in Spanish. in the third year of ESO we made posters on Why Languages Matter, debating on it and watching videos on the topic and in the 4th year of ESO we read texts on the Importance of English as a Lingua Franca and in all the world in general to find a better job, open your mind and know a different culture.

Trabajamos la celebración del Día Europeo de las Lenguas en los cuatro niveles en el instituto con los árboles de las lenguas indoeuropeas en primero de ESO, creadas por los propios alumnos/as. En segundo se trabajaron trabalenguas, palíndromos y la palabra más larga con actividades en Lengua española, en tercero se crearon pósters con la temática de por qué importan tanto las lenguas y en cuarto se hizo ver al alumnado la importancia del inglés como lengua franca y como una puerta que nos abre un futuro con un mejor trabajo, una mente más abierta y el conocimiento de una cultura diferente.
